Weddings never go exactly as planned—but Kailee and Josh’s February wedding at The Addison Grove was a true testament to grace, flexibility, and love no matter the weather. With planning by the incredible Kendall Siemering of Sweet Laurel Events, this day turned out beautifully—even if it didn’t look exactly like the original vision. The Original Plan: Outdoor Elegance

Kailee and Josh envisioned a soft, romantic outdoor ceremony surrounded by the natural beauty of The Addison Grove’s oak trees and Hill Country charm. February weather in Texas is usually mild, so an outdoor wedding was a safe bet—or so we thought!

The Plot Twist: A Surprise Texas Freeze

Just one day before the wedding, an unexpected major cold front rolled in. We’re talking below freezing temps, wind chills that cut through layers, and a total weather curveball. Outdoor chairs were literally tipping over from the wind. ❄️💨

Kendall and her team at Sweet Laurel Events quickly and calmly pivoted, moving the ceremony indoors while maintaining all of the design elements and beauty the couple had dreamed of. Thanks to their creativity and experience, the space felt just as warm and welcoming as the original outdoor plan.

Braving the Cold for Portraits

Even though it was freezing, Kailee and Josh were total troopers. We headed outside for their portraits, and they embraced the cold with smiles, laughter, and lots of snuggles. The wind gave Kailee’s veil the most incredible movement, and the cold air brought out the sweetest rosy cheeks. These two weren’t going to let a little weather stop them from capturing their day beautifully.

A Cozy Celebration Full of Heart

Once inside, the celebration continued with heartfelt vows, warm drinks, and one heck of a dance floor. You could feel the love and gratitude from everyone there—grateful to be together, to celebrate, and to witness Kailee and Josh’s love story in full bloom (even if the weather outside said otherwise).
